DR1: Clampdown on Electricity Fraud

***The President of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) instructed judges to enforce the law that punishes electricity fraud. According to Diario Libre, Jorge Subero Isa believes that the time is right to reorganize the country in terms of electricity theft, although he considers that this sort of felony increases in times of scarce supply. Subero was speaking in the presence of the General Manager of EdeSur Ruben Bichara, who was delivering the Electricity Law and its Regulation. Bichara estimates that 40% of the energy distributed has no identified users as a consequence of theft.
