DR1: Congress Will Adopt Energy Saving Plan

This is very interesting. The Dominican Congress is invested with the highest leverage to legislate in energy and fuel savings. The time they invest in implementing a short run system for Congress as an organization could be better expended contracting profesionals to do it and following through. A much larger scope is letting experts come up with improvements to the electricity law to develop a long run energy and fuel savings system. Such system should brake the barriers to Energy Efficiency investments and Demand Response systems.

Congress is to implement an energy and fuel savings plan as of next Monday, informed Alfredo Pacheco, President of the Chamber of Deputies. He said that he met with Senate President Andres Bautista Garcia to evaluate the possibilities of saving energy. They will announce a series of measures next week.
