DR1: CONEP and ANJE try for alliance
The National Business Council (CONEP) and the National Association of Young Businesspeople (ANJE) are trying to forge an alliance aimed at creating a development plan for the Dominican Republic. The chief representatives of both organizations, Elena Viyella and Eduardo Valcarcel are unanimous in pointing out that such an alliance is the only way to include issues such as education and poverty reduction. Viyella said that the best antidote for poverty is the creation of wealth that can reach all levels of society. According to El Caribe, an alliance between the public and private sectors, as had been suggested by Gustavo Cisneros in another speech, will produce these results. Valcarcel said that education had to become a national priority and part of a global plan.
