Puerto Rico is Looking for Deregulation

Dear Readers:

The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce organized a symposium about Electrical Energy in order to promote alternatives for improving the performance of Puerto Rico Power Authority (PREPA). My fellow Dr. Arberto Ramírez-Orquín, PhD, introduced the lecture “Options for Competitiveness” (not available at this time), which was used as reference in the lectures of Thomas Key from EPRI, James Hoecker, former director of FERC, and Michael Rosenzweig from NERA. In addition, Mr. Sergio Marxuach, from Center for the New Economy introduced the impressive report “Restructuring the Puerto Rico Electricity Sector”, which I encourage you take a look.
