Lessons Learned on AMR Technology

I just posted a comment under the article Progress Energy's Accelerated AMR Deployment: Commitment and Communication by Christina Kelly, Marketing Communications Specialist, Itron and Kathy Small, Communication Specialist, Progress Energy.

The authors are to be commended for sharing the information of a project that started in 2005 “to reduce meter costs, not to set records.” Since then, EWPC is ragmatics' Winning Market Architecture and Design has been emerging, as many things have transpired on demand response and wires operation benefits, other then meter reading, on AMR/AMI technology.

Please correct me if I am wrong: I understand that Irons’ solid-state meters with Centron® technology can be up rated (equipped with a more up to date technology) cost effectively later on for more ambitious (i.e. internet) projects, even under more competitive conditions as those of the generative dialogue being suggested across articles. In that respect, I take the opportunity to repeat the post Worldwide Generative Dialogue Funding Sought to seek support on the emergent EWPC market architecture and design.

Sharing lessons learned is very useful. To me the most important lesson emerging is the possibility of such accelerated deployment benchmark to be beaten later on with
great commitment and communication.
