PEAK LOAD MANAGEMENT ALLIANCE SPRING MEETING

On Thursday and Friday, April 28-29 th, the Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA) held its Spring Meeting in Atlanta, GA, USA, at the Evergreen Conference Center at Stone Mountain. PLMA Chairman, Ross Malme opened the meeting and Joel Gilbert, Vice Chair, facilitated the conference.

The theme of this conference was "Managing Real and Perceived Risks in Energy Markets." Presentations by Walton EMC, Shell Energy Trading and Fitch Rating Services described the nature of risks in energy markets and tools used to mitigate them.

Other presentations built the case for risk management from an individual corporate level, to a regional level (ISO/TSO). Fascinating presentations by Canada, the Dominican Republic and New Zealand dealt with the unique risks facing each of these countries .
